The Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre (CAFC) captures only a fraction of true losses — most fraud goes unreported. Even so, the reported numbers tell a clear story.

Every upload is analysed by an ensemble of models trained on Canadian document layouts — CRA T-slips, provincial IDs, ROEs and the big-five bank statement templates. The engine reconciles Canadian payroll maths: CPP and EI deductions must sit inside their annual maximums, provincial tax must match declared residence, and box totals on a T4 must add up.
In parallel, TrueDoc reads the PDF's internal metadata — the software that produced it, edit history, embedded fonts and object structure — to catch tell-tale traces of common editing tools. AI-generated documents are flagged by a dedicated synthetic-content classifier.

Equifax Canada has repeatedly flagged mortgage-application fraud as one of the fastest-growing risks in the country, driven overwhelmingly by falsified income documents — pay stubs, T4s and Notices of Assessment — and altered bank statements used to prove down-payment savings.
The Record of Employment (ROE) is a second major target: because EI benefits are calculated from insurable hours and earnings, a manipulated ROE can trigger benefit fraud and undermine downstream lending checks. TrueDoc gives lenders, mortgage brokers, insurers and HR teams a fast way to sanity-check what an applicant has sent before it enters underwriting.
These are the fastest checks a reviewer can run before escalating a document. TrueDoc runs every one of them automatically.
A real Social Insurance Number passes the Luhn algorithm. A SIN starting with '0' is never issued; a SIN starting with '9' is temporary.
CRA publishes the annual maximum contribution each year. Any pay stub or T4 above that ceiling is either an error or a forgery.
Every real Canadian account has a 5-digit transit + 3-digit institution number that maps to a specific branch. Fabricated codes usually don't resolve.
Box 14 (income), Box 16 (CPP), Box 18 (EI) and Box 22 (tax) must reconcile with the arithmetic CRA publishes. Forged T4s frequently break this.
Opening balance ± every transaction should equal the closing balance to the cent. Any drift is a strong red flag.
The Service Canada ROE reason-for-issuing code should match the narrative and dates on the form. Mismatches are a common tell.
