By accessing or using TrueDoc, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not access or use the Service.

2. Service Description

TrueDoc results are advisory and probabilistic. They are intended to support decision-making, not replace professional judgment.

3. Service Notice

TrueDoc is a production service that is continuously improved through ongoing model, feature, security, and infrastructure updates.

You understand and agree that:

  • Features may change, expand, or be adjusted over time
  • Detection results may improve or change as our systems advance
  • No verification system is 100% accurate
  • TrueDoc may produce false positives or false negatives
  • Results should not be treated as final legal, financial, compliance, immigration, employment, housing, credit, insurance, law-enforcement, government, or identity determinations

You agree to use professional judgment and independent review when relying on TrueDoc results, especially for important or high-stakes decisions.

4. Accounts and Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use TrueDoc.

You are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate account information
  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
  • All activity under your account
  • Ensuring that your use of TrueDoc complies with applicable laws
  • Ensuring that you have the legal right or authorization to upload documents for analysis

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or create legal, security, privacy, or operational risk.

5. Plans, Usage Limits, and Billing

TrueDoc may offer free, paid, business, API, and enterprise plans.

Plan features may include limits on:

  • Number of document checks
  • Number of users or seats

You agree to comply with the usage limits of your selected plan.

We may change pricing, plan features, usage limits, or billing terms from time to time. When changes are material, we will provide reasonable notice where appropriate.

Paid subscriptions may be processed by third-party payment providers. TrueDoc does not store full payment card details.

If you exceed plan limits or use the Service in a way that creates excessive load, abuse risk, or security risk, we may limit, throttle, suspend, or reject uploads, API calls, or analyses.

6. Document Processing and Report Retention

TrueDoc follows a privacy-first document handling model.

6.1 Original Uploaded Documents

Original uploaded documents are used for processing and verification.

By default, original uploaded documents are deleted after analysis is completed.

This means TrueDoc does not retain original uploaded passports, driver licenses, paystubs, bank statements, receipts, invoices, or similar files by default after processing is complete.

6.2 Redacted Reports

TrueDoc may retain redacted verification reports according to your plan.

Redacted reports may include:

  • Trust score
  • Risk level
  • Verdict
  • Recommended action
  • Document type
  • Verification signals
  • Fraud indicators
  • Redacted text snippets
  • Report metadata
  • Report retention and expiration information

Redacted reports do not contain the original uploaded file.

6.3 Report Retention by Plan

Report retention may vary by plan:

  • Free: 30-day redacted report retention
  • Pro: 90-day redacted report retention
  • Business Starter: 90-day redacted report retention
  • Business Growth: 180-day redacted report retention
  • Business Scale: 365-day redacted report retention
  • Enterprise: Custom retention options

Enterprise customers may have custom retention terms, including customer-controlled storage or custom deletion schedules, if agreed in writing.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Upload documents you do not have the legal right or authorization to use
  • Use TrueDoc to commit fraud, impersonation, harassment, abuse, or unlawful activity
  • Upload unlawful, abusive, misleading, harmful, or infringing content
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, scrape, probe, or exploit the Service
  • Attempt to bypass security controls, usage limits, API limits, or authentication
  • Use automated systems to overload or abuse the Service
  • Use TrueDoc for illegal surveillance or unauthorized identity verification
  • Use results to make unlawful, discriminatory, or harmful decisions
  • Misrepresent TrueDoc results as official government, legal, financial, employment, housing, credit, insurance, or identity determinations

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms.

8. User Content and Uploaded Files

You retain ownership of documents and content you upload.

By uploading content to TrueDoc, you grant us a limited right to process that content only as necessary to:

  • Provide the Service
  • Analyze the uploaded file
  • Generate verification results and reports
  • Provide security, abuse prevention, and support
  • Maintain audit history and usage records
  • Comply with legal obligations

You represent and warrant that you have the necessary rights, permissions, notices, consents, and legal basis to upload and submit any documents or personal data to TrueDoc, including documents containing sensitive personal information.

9. AI Processing and Results

TrueDoc uses artificial intelligence, automated analysis, and rule-based detection systems to evaluate uploaded documents and images.

You understand that AI-based results are probabilistic. TrueDoc may not detect every fake, forged, edited, manipulated, AI-generated, or suspicious document.

TrueDoc does not provide legal, financial, immigration, compliance, law-enforcement, government, employment, housing, credit, insurance, or identity-verification advice.

You are responsible for independently reviewing TrueDoc results before making decisions based on them.

10. No Training on Original Sensitive Documents

TrueDoc does not use original uploaded personal or sensitive documents to train public AI models.

We may use anonymized, aggregated, non-identifying analytics and fraud-signal metadata to improve platform performance, security, reliability, and fraud-detection quality.

11. No Consumer Reporting or Eligibility Determinations

TrueDoc is not a consumer reporting agency and does not provide consumer reports, background checks, credit reports, tenant screening reports, employment screening reports, insurance eligibility reports, lending eligibility reports, or other eligibility determinations under the Fair Credit Reporting Act or similar laws.

Customers are responsible for determining whether their use of TrueDoc triggers any legal obligations, including notice, consent, adverse action, accuracy, dispute, human review, anti-discrimination, or other requirements.

TrueDoc results are advisory risk signals only. Customers must not rely solely on TrueDoc to approve, reject, hire, rent to, onboard, deny services to, or otherwise make high-impact decisions about a person.

Customers are responsible for human review, independent verification, and compliance with applicable laws.

12. Privacy and Data Protection

Your use of TrueDoc is governed by our Privacy Policy.

By using TrueDoc, you consent to the collection, processing, deletion, retention, and use of data as described in the Privacy Policy.

Our current privacy-first model includes:

  • Processing original uploaded documents for analysis
  • Deleting original uploaded documents after processing by default
  • Retaining redacted reports according to plan
  • Storing safe analytics and fraud-signal metadata
  • Maintaining account, billing, audit, and usage records as needed

13. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect the Service and user data.

However, no system is completely secure. You acknowledge that use of online services carries inherent risk.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and limiting access to authorized users.

14. API, Webhooks, and Integrations

Certain plans may include API, webhook, automation, or integration access.

Customers are responsible for:

  • Securing API keys, access tokens, webhook endpoints, and integration credentials
  • Preventing unauthorized access to their systems
  • Validating webhook payloads and integration behavior
  • Monitoring usage and abuse
  • Ensuring integrations comply with applicable laws and internal policies

TrueDoc is not responsible for unauthorized activity caused by a customer's failure to protect credentials, API keys, tokens, or integration endpoints.

We may revoke, rotate, limit, suspend, or disable API or webhook access if we believe it creates security, abuse, legal, or operational risk.

15. Third-Party Services

TrueDoc may rely on third-party service providers for hosting, storage, AI processing, authentication, analytics, payments, email, security, and support.

We are not responsible for third-party services outside our control, but we use commercially reasonable efforts to work with providers that support appropriate security and privacy safeguards.

AI and automated analysis providers may change over time. TrueDoc may add, remove, or replace providers, models, processors, or detection methods to improve accuracy, security, availability, or performance.

16. Intellectual Property

TrueDoc, including its software, design, workflows, reports, models, business logic, branding, and platform content, is owned by Cyber Logic or its licensors.

You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from TrueDoc without our written permission.

You may use reports generated by TrueDoc for your internal, business, or personal verification purposes, subject to these Terms and your plan.

17. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available."

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TrueDoc disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, reliability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

TrueDoc does not guarantee:

  • That results will be accurate, complete, or error-free
  • That all fraud, manipulation, or AI-generated content will be detected
  • That all authentic documents will be correctly verified
  • That the Service will be uninterrupted or always available
  • That reports are suitable for legal, regulatory, official, or high-stakes decisions without independent review

18. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cyber Logic, TrueDoc, and their team members, contractors, suppliers, and service providers will not be liable for:

  • Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages

If liability cannot be excluded, our total liability will not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, or CAD $100 if you used the Service for free.

19. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Cyber Logic, TrueDoc, and their team members, contractors, service providers, and affiliates from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or legal fees arising from:

  • Your use or misuse of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your uploaded content or documents
  • Your violation of laws or third-party rights
  • Your failure to obtain required rights, notices, consents, or legal basis for uploaded documents
  • Decisions made by you or your organization based on TrueDoc results

20. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service if:

  • You violate these Terms
  • Your use creates legal, security, privacy, or operational risk
  • You exceed plan limits or fail to pay applicable fees
  • We are required to do so by law
  • We discontinue or materially change the Service

You may stop using the Service at any time.

Termination does not affect provisions that should reasonably survive, including payment obligations, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, dispute resolution, and data retention provisions.

21. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Nova Scotia, Canada, and applicable federal laws of Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles.

22. Dispute Resolution

Where permitted by law, any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved through binding arbitration or another dispute resolution process selected by TrueDoc, unless prohibited by applicable law.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to waive the right to:

  • A jury trial
  • Participation in a class action, class arbitration, or representative proceeding

Nothing in this section limits rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.

23. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

If changes are material, we may notify users through the website, in-app notice, or email where appropriate.

Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
